Lavender Sachets
Description : -This is a great craft that uses sensory stimulation, by Michelle Gouveia.
Materials :

  • Lavender sprigs, (which you can get from a craft store, or from a wholesale florist)
  • Several yards of Tulle (enough for each resident to have a 10" x 10" square)
  • Spool of colored cloth ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Newspaper
  • Instructions :

  • Start by laying newspaper down on the tables.
  • Next, have the residents break up the lavender stalks, into a pile in the middle of the table. Then with scissors, cut up the tulle fabric so that each resident has a 10x10 inch square.
  • Next, cut the ribbon into sections so that each resident has a one, (approx 20" in length).
  • Gather up the lavender and place in the middle of the square of tulle.
  • Gather up the edges of the tulle and twist, tie ribbon around the top to secure it and form into a bow.
  • Be careful with the lavender, dried lavender can be sharp on seniors hands. You might also have to consider any allergic reactions.
