:: Group General Men Women Alzheimer Low Function
|Description : -This is a great craft that uses sensory stimulation, by Michelle Gouveia.|
|Materials : Lavender sprigs, (which you can get from a craft store, or from a wholesale florist)
Several yards of Tulle (enough for each resident to have a 10" x 10" square)
Spool of colored cloth ribbon
|Instructions : Start by laying newspaper down on the tables.
Next, have the residents break up the lavender stalks, into a pile in the middle of the table. Then with scissors, cut up the tulle fabric so that each resident has a 10x10 inch square.
Next, cut the ribbon into sections so that each resident has a one, (approx 20" in length).
Gather up the lavender and place in the middle of the square of tulle.
Gather up the edges of the tulle and twist, tie ribbon around the top to secure it and form into a bow.
Be careful with the lavender, dried lavender can be sharp on seniors hands. You might also have to consider any allergic reactions.|
